The Logos Empowerment Girls High School was initiated and influenced by the work of the Hon. Rev. Canon L.T. and Mrs Muyambi who are well known figures in the Gokwe South District for initiating community development projects such as the CZM Primary school, the CZM clinic, and the St Agnes Gokwe Children’s Home. The school is registered with the Ministry of Education, Arts, Sports and culture. It opened its doors to the public in January 2012. The rationale behind the establishment of the school is that there was only one Girls High school in the Midlands region. Hence there was a need for the establishment of another Girls High school which is involved in empowering the girl child and lobbying for their rights so as to attain the priority goals of the Millennium Development Goals.
The school is concerned with addressing issues which enables the girl child to access their rights to information, resources, and protection from abuse and exploitation. Its main thrust is also to protect the girl child and expose her to an independent environment where she can freely express herself in its day and boarding school facilities.
From the inception of the school, the school has so far enrolled over 150 boarding and day students. This number is expected to increase because the school is developing and consolidating its services as well as building up its capacity to include the amounting number of the girl child in need of quality education services and facilities. There is a staff compliment of four qualified teachers, a headmaster and five administration members.
The Logos Empowerment Girls High School endears to teach the girl child to explore their potential and become the best that they can possibly be. The school also aims to provide high quality education to the girl child, teaching them good moral and cultural standards as well as upholding high quality education standards through a highly qualified teaching personnel and high quality education facilities.
